The Hamptons, NY: Dog Friendly Places
by Mark Stuertz
When it comes to buddy-buddy time, The Hamptons takes the biscuit––dog biscuit that is! This stretch of beach towns—East Hampton, South Hampton, Bridgehampton, etc.—occupying the south fork of New York’s Long Island are filled with dogs and dog lovers, and these towns treat ’em right. In The Hamptons, you and your pal can play at the dog-friendly beach in the morning, grab lunch together at noon, romp at the dog park in the afternoon, and still make it to Yappy Hour.
Cedar Point County Park
Bring your pal to enjoy
more than 607 beautiful recreational acres complete with an historic
circa-1860 Cedar Point Lighthouse, nature trails, and the Cedar Point
General Store and Snack Bar. You both can take in all the views of
Gardiner’s Bay while strolling the grounds and walking over the narrow
strip connecting the lighthouse with the mainland. Campsites are
available too.
